But above all,
my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other
oath; but your yes is to be yes, and your no, no, so that you may not fall
under judgment. Is anyone among you suffering? The he must pray. Is anyone
cheerful? He is to sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? The he must call
for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him
with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer offered in faith will
restore the one who is sick and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has
committed sins, they will be forgiven him. Therefore, confess your sins to
one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The
effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.

Comments: Dear Christian Friends,
I pray this letter finds your prayer ministry and Church doing well and
increasing in numbers. I am writing to you to request prayers for a healing.
For almost two years, I have been dealing with some very serious health
issues concerning my heart. In December of 2000, I was diagnosed with a
heart condition that doctors said would never improve and the only treatment
would be a heart transplant. I immediately asked for prayers because I have
witnessed the power of prayer several times.
The doctors found that I had a heart virus attack my heart and destroy the
heart muscle. My exact diagnosis was a cardiomyopathy, which is heart
failure due to unknown causes. My heartbeat was and still is irregular. I
was given three weeks to live at the beginning of January 2001. I asked my
Church, family and friends to start praying for me immediately. Since my
first diagnosis I have undergone ever! y test there is to determine heart
problems.
In March of 2001, I collapsed due to a side effect, vertigo, caused by my
many medications. I still suffer from vertigo. However, on May 4, 2001, I
was told that my heart condition had improved so much that I would no longer
need a heart transplant. In December of 2000, my heart was pumping 5-7%,
where a healthy heart pumps at 55-60%. In May, doctors told me my heart was
then pumping 43%, closer to normal function than any doctors ever had
imagined that I could. I owe this miracle to the Lord and the many prayers
that were lifting me up for healing.
Yet, another set back in August of 2001. I was scheduled to have a
tilt-table test on August 2. I went in for the test and during the test I
passed out due to my heart beat being so irregular. I was hospitalized and
scheduled to have a pacemaker put in on August 3rd. I had my first pacemaker
surgery early on August 3rd, but my leads kept slipp! ing so I had to endure
this invasive surgery two more times, once on August 4th and the final
pacemaker that worked on August 5th.
Since, I have had the pacemaker I have improved, but I still have not
regained all of my energy and strength. I struggle daily with swelling due
to fluid retention and difficulty breathing. My energy and strength levels
are non-existent.
My main reason in writing to you is to ask for prayers for a complete
healing of my body, not only my heart, but my entire body. The numerous
medications have taken their toll on my body. Currently, I am dealing with a
great deal of fluid retention please pray for the swelling and fluid to
leave my body.
I would appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
In Christian Love,
Connie C. Dunn
Note from Daughter:
Thank you very much for praying for my Mother! May the Lord Bless You All !

Subject: prayer requestI just found out this morning that my nephew,
Michael Packer (married to my
oldest niece, Lynette), has been diagnosed with cancer of the mouth.
It is
on the inside of his lower lip and is basal cell carcinoma. This is
all we
know for sure right now, which is the result of a biopsy done last week.
Please keep, Michael, Lynette, their children( Rebekah & Jonathan) and
all
the rest of the family in your prayers. Needless to say, this has
really
shaken us all up. Michael is in his mid 40s,healthy up till now, and
has
never been a smoker. He is also a man of faith, and will greatly
appreciate
and benefit by all our prayers.
Please put this on any and all prayer lists of your own, your church, and
your friends. We believe in the power of prayer.
Thank you, and God bless. |
Update from Donna
Thanx so much for your prayers. They feel sure they got all of Michael's
cancer. The surgeon had to go back/deeper the 3rd time before the biopsy
showed clear. Then he let the reconstructive plastic surgeon do his job.
He had told us it might take several tries to get it all, because he didn't
want to go any deeper than necessary. Michael is at home, but still needs
our prayers. With this being inside his lower lip, I'm sure the recovery
will be uncomfortable, to say the least.
For those of you who might not recognise the name, Michael is the husband of
my oldest niece, Lynette. She is my oldest brother's daughter, and she and
her family live in Atlanta.
Thanx again for the prayers...we all appreciate them so very much.
